According to wiki, onion routing is a technique for anonymous communication over Internet. Messages are repeatedly encrypted and then sent through several network nodes called onion routers. Like someone unpeeling an onion, each onion router removes a layer of encryption to uncover routing instructions, and sends the message to the next router where this is repeated. This prevents these intermediary nodes from knowing the origin, destination, and contents of the message.

All you have to do is to install it and start Tor browser. Quick IP Chicken test show new IP address. It’s pretty slow but  reliable. It prevents eavesdropping and traffic analysis attacks (‘Go Online without Getting Snooped’ )

Cloud gives more opportunities to practice hacking skills. I started with Securityoverride.net and got 1501 point (with help of  Spoonfed.org’s Videos lol;) They have impressive number of hacking challenges.

Recently found excellent Metasploit resources. This is  SecurityTube Vivek Ramachandran’s Metasploit Megapack free video series , currently listen to part 7. The other one is Rapid7  metasploitable VMs.

Found that nice video demonstrating double slit experiment (experiment first shown by Thomas Young in 1803?). It clearly shows that matter  can display characteristics of  both waves and particles. Matter particles, such as electrons, produce interference patterns due to their wave-like nature. In order for a particle to interfere with itself (remember one electron is shot at the time), it must pass through both slits.. Double slit experiment is the key to understand quantum physics and nature of world (not only microscopic). It is breakdown of objective reality, raises questions: Does one matter particle passes thru both slits at the same time? Is it wave or particle ? Can we observe it being particle and wave at the same time ?

The double slit experiment is a good test of the role of the observer in the quantum realm. The behavior one finds depends upon what one chooses to look for. If we modify the experiment by putting a detector near each of the two slits it will bring two consequences.  Sometimes the electron would be detected near first slit and sometimes near second slit (we can’t predict which slit the single electron will choose). The other consequence of this would be destruction of the interference pattern on the screen. The electrons would split evenly. For the first time in physics, indicates that there is a much deeper relationship between the observer and the phenomenon.

Nothing

Is there such thing as nothing ? I was taught at school that there is nothing in quantum physics (as well as it proves that nothing comes out of nothing). But is nothing in quantum physics same thing we understand as nothing by our intuition ? In quantum physics nothing is just sate of system, so to get nothing at least system has to exist. The good analogy can be found in Stephen Barr book which refers to bank account where someone can get 10usd, or 0usd (state of system is changing). But zero balance on bank account is not the same as not having bank account, right ?

In  quantum nothing (vacuum) where there is nothing but supposedly empty space there are constant quantum fluctuations with particles continually popping (so called pair or matter creation) into and out of existence.

There are proofs based on subtle and powerful Godel’s theorem that  human mind is not computer program. This is because formal and consistent systems according to Godel lead to statements which are neither provable nor disprovable by systems itself, but which are nevertheless true statements. So if human mind was acting as computer program it would contradict itself creating statements which are provable.. and not provable to be true. See below picture from Alan McKenzie page.

Is that why we stopped to work on human-computer ? This proof is 80 years old.

What is Stellar Paralax ? In astronomy it was used as a scientific argument against heliocentric for many centuries. So it’s not true that heliocentric was not accepted by Church officials because it contradicted Bible (it doesn’t as Theory of Evolution does not) but because there was no proof. Heliocentrism was lacking of observable stellar parallax. See illustration here

Copernican mathematics was not confirmed by physical observation. In middle ages mathematics was not considered as enough evidence for anything.
